European Programme for Urban Sustainable Development URBACT II

The European Programme for Urban Sustainable Development URBACT II, is a Programme for the exchange of experiences between European cities. For the 2007-2013 period, the European Commission approved on 2/10/2007 the Operational Programme of URBACT II 2007-2013 with the following objectives:

  1. Provide an exchange and learning tool for policy decision-makers, practitioners and other actors involved in developing urban policies.
  2. Disseminate good practices and lessons learned from exchanges to all European cities.
  3. Learn from the exchanges between URBACT partners by sharing experiences and good practices.
  4. Assist city policy-makers, practioners and managers of operational programmes to define action plans.

The URBACT II Beneficiaries are Cities (Municipalities) from the 27 member states of the European Union, Regions and member states (for urban policies), Universities and Research Centers (for urban policies).
